Sidhu preferred Imran’s friendship over national interests-BJP

Punjab BJP on Sunday criticised the statement of Local Body minister Navjot Singh Sidhu for giving nearly clean chit to Pakistan government for the dastardly act of killing more than 40 CRPF troops in a suicide bomb attack in Pulwama.

Senior BJP leader and former Punjab minister Manoranjan Kalia on Sunday said Sidhu had condemned the heinous act of the terrorists hatching and implementing evil designs of militancy to destabilise India and Sidhu had been supporting Pakistan in order to appease and please his friend Imran Khan, prime minister of Pakistan, once his cricketer friend.

Mr Kalia said Sidhu had condemned only the terrorist incident of killing CRPF troops and not Pakistan on whose land, the conspiracy of the suicidal attack on the CRPF convoy was hatched and ordered for its implementation.

He said the Pakistan government too did not denounce this act of militants and instead made an attempt to get itself absolved of the dastardly act by saying that the country could not be blamed for the act of handful of people. Sidhu also used the same language which is a clear proof that Sidhu preferred friendship over his own country.

Mr Kalia said it would be worth noting that Imran Khan and former ISI Chief of Pakistan Hamid Gul had floated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Party (PTI) , whose open support to terrorist outfits is an open secret .
Had Sidhu respected the charged sentiments of People of India against Pakistan, he would have called his friend Imran Khan to express resentment over the cowardly act of militants who are being funded and supported by the government of Pakistan which is aiding and abetting terrorism in India.

Mr Kalia said the refraining of Mr Sunil Jakhar President Punjab Congress & Randeep Singh Surjewala from commenting upon the statement of Sidhu amounts to acquiescence for which the People of India will not forgive them. He urged the Modi government to declare Pakistan a terrorist state.
