A 24-member Indian contingent–12 each in Men and Women’s sections–will participate in the World Cup Kabbadi championship to be held at Melaka in Malaysia from July 20 to 28.
The team would leave for Melaka tomorrow, New Kabbadi Federation President Sarvesh Kumar and General Secretary M V Prasad Babu told reporters on Thursday.
They said the Federation has selected the team from all over the country who have shown their mettle during the Indo-International Kabbadi league held in May-June this year.
The team is trained by Arjuna Awardee and former Internationals like Rajarathinam and Rakesh Kumar. They said the team was in excellent form and exuded confidence
that the team would perform well and win the title.They said a total 32 men’s team and 18 women’s team would be participating in the event, being hosted in Melaka for the first time.
