Abheejit Iyer’s ordeals far from over

Abheejit Ayer Mitra’s ordeals are far from over. He has to present himself before the Assembly in the winter session starting from tomorrow. Even after his appearance before the House Committee headed by the leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra, his affidavit and an unconditional apology, things are yet far from over. Mitra faced charges of unwarranted and uncivil remarks against Sun Temple at Konark and his jibes at the MLAs for which he was summoned by the House Committee.

Iyer, now has to appear in the Assembly on the first day of the winter session starting from Friday. Mitra had been arrested by the Sahid Nagar police and remanded to judicial custody for acts under Section 294, 295 A, 153 A, 500 and 506 of the IPC and Section 67 of the Information Technology Act for his derogatory remarks.
