Against the backdrop of situation simmering in the Kashmir valley over rumours around about abrogation of Article 35-A, the crowd attending the rally addressed by the BJP Chief Amit Shah on Sunday raised slogans demanding abrogation of Article 35A, 370 to save Jammu.
“Jammu Ko Bachana Hoga To 370, 35A Hatana Hoga (To save Jammu, abrogation of Article 370 and 35A is must),” shouted people attending the rally.
The rally was organised by the State BJP to pay tributes to Pulwama martyrs.
However, avoided mention of Article 370 and 35-A in his address, Mr Shah repeated invoked founder of Jan Sangh, Shyama Prashad Mukherjee and Praja Parishad leader Prem Nath Dogra in his around 40 minutes address.
He said that the BJP is vowed to rectify the “blunders committed” by first the Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru in dealing J&K after partition.
“Problems of Hydrabad and Junagarh were more complex as compared to Kashmir but Sardar Patel had solved the same with conviction and vision,” said Mr Shah and added that Jawahar Lal Nehru failed to solve issue of Kashmir which he was handling himself.
“I am giving this message from Jammu that the Narendra Modi government is committed to rectify the mistakes of great grand-father of Congress president Rahul Gandhi,” he added and attacked Congress by shifting all blames on Nehru for giving “special status” to J&K.
Mr Shah as soon as when arrived at the stage, invoked Shyama Prashad Mukherjee by recalling his (Mukherjee’s) “murder” in Kashmir for opposing Article 370.
Mukherjee and Dogra had launched ‘Ek Vidhan, Ek Pradhan, Ek Nishan’ movement against “special status” being granted to J&K.
Earlier he paid tributes to the Pulwama Martyrs by paying floral tributes on the occasion.
“We have given free hand to our security forces,” he said and added that had they (terrorists) attacked the convoy from front, they would have faced a befitting reply but they were coward.
“No force can separate Jammu and Kashmir from the country, it is and will remain an integral part,” he added and said that the sacrifice of 40 CRPF personnel will not go in vain, no matters to which state they belong to.
“If they (Pakistan) think that by such acts, they can divide people of the country, they are wrong but rather, they have further united the people of the nation,” said Mr Shah.
“They are mistaken not knowing that security forces have been given complete freedom and if they think by carrying out such cowardly act they can disintegrate Kashmir, they are wrong,” he added.
Raising that ‘Jahan Hue Balidan Mukherjee, Woh Kashmir Hamara Hai,” Mr Shah added that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi have zero tolerance towards terrorism and no leniency will be given to them. (UNI)
