In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC), under Chairmanship of of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Tuesday, approved changes at Secretary levels in 10 Ministries /Departments.
The ACC has also approved the upgradation of 13 IAS officers of 1987 batch to the level of Special Secretary in the rank and pay of Secretary.
According to an official release issued by Department of Personal and Training (DoPT), the ACC has approved the appointment of Odisha cadre IAS officer Tuhin Kanta Pandey as Secretary, Department of Investment and Public Asset Management, Ministry of Finance, replacing 1986 batch Himachal Pradesh cadre IAS officer Anil Kumar Khachi. Khachi has been repatriated to his parent cadre ‘on personal grounds with immediate effect.’
1984 batch IAS officer Braj Raj Sharma has been appointed Chairman of Staff Selection Commission while 1987 batch IAS officer Pankaj Kumar will be the new CEO of Unique Identification Authority of India. 1986 batch IAS officer Sanjeev Nandan Sahai will be the new Power Secretary, while Madhya Pradesh Cadre IAS Pramod Kumar Das has been appointed Minority Affairs Secretary.
1986 batch IAS officer Alok Tandon will be Secretary in Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances and he will also hold the additional charge of the post of Secretary, Department of Pensions and Pensioners Welfare.
1985 batch IAS officer Sailesh will be Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises and Nagendra Nath Sinha will be Secretary, Department of Border Management in the Home Ministry.
Himachal Cadre IAS Sanjeev Gupta will be the Secretary, Inter-State Council Secretariat and Rajesh Bhushan will be Secretary (Coordination) in the Cabinet Secretariat.
1987 Kerala cadre IAS officer VP Joy will be Director General of Hydrocarbons, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas as Director General of Hydrocarbons, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas in the rank and pay of Secretary.
Arun Singhal will be Special Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare and 1987 batch IAS officer Sunil Kumar will be Special Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Talleen Kumar will be Chief Executive Officer, Government e-Marketplace Special Purpose Vehicle, Ministry of Commerce and Industry in the rank and pay of Secretary.
Rajiv Ranjan Mishra will be new Director General, National Mission for Clean Ganga, Ministry of Jal Shakti in the rank and pay of Secretary and Pradip Kumar Tripathi will be Special Secretary & Establishment Officer, Department of Personnel and Training.
Raj Kumar will be Director General, Employees’ State Insurance Corporation, Ministry of Labour and Employment in the rank and pay of Secretary and Barun Mitra will be new Special Secretary, Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence.
Praveen Kumar appointed as Special Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and Manoj Jhalani will be Special Secretary, Department of Heatth and Family Welfare, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Vasudha Mishra will be Special Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfar and Leena Nandan will be Special Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
According to the release, the 1987 batch IAS officer Pravir Krishna will be the Managing Director, Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Ltd., Ministry of Tribal Affairs in the rank and pay of Secretary. (UNI)
