Air India decides to ban use of plastic in its flights from Oct 2

Air India has decided to ban use of plastic in Alliance Air and Air India Express from October 2.
It was informed by Chairman and Managing Director of Air India Ashwani Lohani during a workshop of Civil Aviation Correspondents here on Thursday.

Instead of Plastic tea cups, there will be sturdy paper cups and instead of plastic tumblers, there will be paper tumblers. The decision comes weeks after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his Independence Day Address, had appealed to people to stop the use of ‘single-use plastic’ and urged them to make it a campaign on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi this October 2
