Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday chaired his first high-level security meeting, to take stock of overall security situation in the country.
Following the tradition of his predecessors to take first hand information from the top brass, he was briefed by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauaba, Intelligence Bureau Chief Rajiv Jain and other senior Home Ministry officials.
‘The top security chiefs have briefed the Home Minister, an overall briefing, on the prevailing security situation in the country,’ a senior Home Ministry official said.
The security situation in Jammu and Kashmir was also discussed and both the NSA and the Home Secretary updated him, the official added.
The Jammu and Kashmir Governor has met the Home Minister on Saturday, who separately apprised him about the current situation in the state.
The Assembly Election in Jammu and Kashmir is a major task for this Government and top braces have updated Mr Shah in detail, regarding the security and other challenges in the state.
