Armed forces were denied permission to avenge 26/11 : PM

Launching a scathing attack on the Congress and other opposition parties , Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday charged the previous UPA Government of denying permission to the armed forces for avenging the 26/11 Mumbai attacks in 2008. Addressing a gathering after launching several developmental projects here, in presence of Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma and Uttar Pradesh chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, PM Modi slammed the opposition for demanding proof of the Uri surgical strikes and the Balakot air strikes. Alleging that the security forces were not given a free hand to deal with terrorism during the previous regime, the PM said links of attacks and blasts earlier also were connected to Pakistan, but the earlier governments only changed the Home Minister. “Now you tell me, in such situations should the Home Minister be changed or the policy?” he said. Accusing the opposition parties of abusing him, the PM said,’there is competition among corrupt people to abuse chowkidar (gatekeeper). They think abusing me will get them votes. However, I have the blessings of 130 crore Indians.’ On the opposition demand for proof of air strikes, he said,’the information to the world about the recent IAF airstrikes in Pakistan was given by Pakistan itself through a tweet. ‘Jiski ragon mein Hindustan ka khoon hai, usko shaq hona chahiye kya?… Jo Bharat Maa ki jai bolta hai, usko shaq hona chahiye kya? Ye shaq karne wale log kaun hain? Aise logon ki baaton pe bharosa karoge kya? (Anyone iwith Indian blood flowing in his veins should he doubt the forces? One who says ‘Bharat mata Ki jai should he have any doubts? Who are these people? Will you express faith in these people?)
