Kannauj accident: DNA test to identify bodies, death toll

At least 14 people were killed and 21 others injured when a passenger bus plummeted 200 meters into a ravine around midnight Sunday in Bolivia, local authorities reported Monday. The accident occurred near the town of Charazani, 251 km to the north of La Paz, according to preliminary information, said Osvaldo Fuentes, director of public transit of El Alto, Bolivia’s second-largest city.

“Among the dead, 11 were women and three were men,” Fuentes told local media. The bus was heading from La Paz to the town of Apolo, carrying a team of volunteer doctors and nurses who were on a healthcare campaign to bring medical attention to local communities. The police are investigating the cause of the accident, officials said.
