BJP activist Kashinath Ghosh, one of the suspects in the murder of Trinamool Congress supporter Lalchand Bag (40) a week ago, was today found murdered in a water body at Nakunda village, Goghat.
The murder is being suspected, by many, a result of “badla politics”(politics of revenge) even as the Rapid Action Force and combat police have been deployed in the politically volatile Hooghly district region.
Bag was brutally hacked to death by a group of people while he was returning home from a market on July 22 night. The TMC has accused that its supporter Bag was murdered by the BJP backed goons following which police had arrested six suspects.
However, Kashinath Ghosh (42), who had been one of the suspects among others, was found murdered in a water body near his village at Nakunda on Saturday.
The BJP also accused the ruling TMC in the murder of Kashinath Ghosh.
The situation in the area is tense after Ghosh’s mutilated body was found, forcing the administration to deploy the RAF and Combat forces to prevent escalation the situation. (UNI)
