Business activities comes to halt in civil lines

Business and other activities came to halt on Saturday afternoon in the civil lines, including historic Lal Chowk against alleged attack on Kashmiri’s in Jammu and other parts of the country.

Meanwhile, Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Forum (KRMF) and Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) and other trade bodies have called for a general strike on Sunday against attacks on Kashmiris outside the valley after the fidayeen attack at Lehtpora in Pulwama on Srinagar-Jammu highway in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed and several injured.

All shops and business establishments were closed at 1500 hrs in the civil lines, including historic Lal Chowk, the nerve centre of the city, Ganthaghar, Budshah Chowk, Maisuma, Koker Bazar and adjoining business hubs.

Later the traders and their salesmen assembled at Gantaghar.

The traders alleged that criminals were being allowed to target residential colonies of Kashmir.
