The Cabinet on Wednesday approved that Aadhar can be used as an identity proof for availing state subsidy schemes.
The Cabinet meet, held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the official amendments to the Aadhaar and Other Laws (Amendment) Bill 2019, Union Minister Parkash Javadekar told reporters here.
The Minister said around 128 crore people have Aadhar across the country and the new amendments would further check frauds and benefit the eligible people.
