Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram who is already lodged in maximum security Tihar prison here was on Wednesday arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with its ongoing probe in INX Media scam.
This development came after the court allowed the probe agency to quiz and arrest Mr. Chidamabaram, if required. ED had sought permission of the court to question the former Finance Minister.
The ED officials reached the Tihar jail in the morning and questioned Mr Chidambaram, following which they arrested him. ED will now seek fresh custody of Mr Chidambaram from the court. His judicial custody was ordered by the court after his arrest by the CBI in August. (UNI)
