Taking on the Narendra Modi government over the price hike of petrol and diesel, Congress on Monday mocked the BJP and said the saffron party’s expansion ‘Bahut Jyada Price’.
Comparing the petrol and diesel prices in Delhi, AICC Communication in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala said that “petrol-diesel prices are on fire and common people suffer”.
In a tweet, Surjewala pointed out that petrol price in Delhi has become 73.27 per litre on July 15 while it was 70.05 per litre on June 26.
“Huge increase of Rs 3.22 per litre”, the Congress spokesperson said.
Similarly, Mr Surjewala said that on June 26 the diesel price was Rs 63.90 per litre while it has increased to Rs. 66.24 per litre on July 15.
“Huge increase of Rs 2.33 per litre”, he said and added that “BJP = Bahut Jyada Price”.
In the union Budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced fuel taxes and it caused petrol and diesel prices rose by at least Rs 2.4 and Rs 2.36 a litre respectively across cities the next day. (UNI)
