The Congress on Monday released its fifth list of 56 candidates for Lok Sabha polls, including names of Bhubaneswar Kalita, Deepa Dasmunshi, Abhijit Mujherjee and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.
The list , cleared by the Central election committee of the Congress and released by AICC General secretary Mukul Wasnik, includes names of 22 candidates from Andhra Pradesh, five from Assam, six from Odisha, eight from Telangana, three from Uttar Pradesh, 11 from West Bengal and one from Lakshwadeep.
The list includes a replacement of candidate from Meerut from where Harendra Aggarwal replaces Dr O P Sharma.
Prominent among the names in the list are those of Bhubaneswar Kalita from Mangaldoi (Assam), Bhakta Charan Das from Kalahandi(Odisha), Madhy Yashki Gowd from Nizamabad (Telangana) , N Utram Kumar Reddy from Nalgonda (Telangana), Deepa Dasmunsi from Raiganj West Bengal), Abhijit Mujherjee from Jangipur (West Bengal ) and Adhir Ranhan Chowdhury from Baharampur (West Bengal ).
With Monday’s list , the party has declared its 37 candidates for Uttar Pradesh, four for Gujarat, five for Maharashtra, 10 seats in Assam, two from Meghalaya, one each from Nagaland , Sikkim , Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshwadeep , 16 from Telangana, 12 from Kerala, 22 candidates from Andhra Pradesh, six from Odisha, 11 from West Bengal , two seats of Arunachal Pradesh and five seats from Chhattisgarh
