Congress is fighting a battle to lose in UP: Smriti

Union Textile Minister and BJP candidate Smriti Irani, who is taking head on with the Congress president from Amethi for the second time, has claimed on Thursday that the Congress party in Uttar Pradesh is fighting a ‘battle to lose.’

” We gave a chase to Congress president that he had to literally run even after SP-BSP pledged support on this seat. This is not a fight between BJP and Congress, this is a genuine fight between people and the missing  Sansad and now the missing candidate,” he said.
Ms Irani, said the Congress party’s condition “is so bad” that it has to call party workers from other states for campaigning in the Gandhi family bastion.
“Had Rahul worked for Amethi, the condition of Congress would not have been so miserable. Its party workers would not have deserted it,” she claimed.

“Till now Rahul Gandhi had been a missing MP, but now he has become a missing candidate as well,” Irani said.
The BJP candidate was literally annoyed with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for her barb against PM and UP CM over stray cattle menace. “This is her real face. She is disrespecting a prime minister and a state chief. She denigrated Gorakhnath math adhyaksh. Will she do the same in Gorakhpur?,” she questioned.

She also raised the issue of children abusing and raising anti-PM slogan in presence of Priyanka.

“Doesn’t Mrs Vadra know that you can’t use children for political activity? What values are you giving to children.I’d say that cultured families should keep their children away from such a person,” she commented.

She said that the people of Amethi are now fed up with these Nehru-Gandhi scions and they have decided to teach them a lesson this time.

The polling for Amethi seat will be held on May 6.
