Congress leaders stage dharna against BJP's alleged horse trading to pull down the coalition government in Karnataka

Congress leaders and workers today staged dharna in front of Mahatma Gandhi statue situated in between Vidhana Soudh and Vikasa Soudha alleging that opposition BJP has indulged in pulling down the Coalition government which was duly constituted as per Constitution.

The agitation was led by CLP leader and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal, who is the incharge of Party affairs in Karnataka, KPCC President Dinesh Gundurao, KPCC Working President Eshwar Khandre, Ministers who had resigned to Minister post yestereday, among others participated in the Dharna.

Siddaramaiah said that they will be meeting Assembly Speaker K R Ramesh Kumar and petition to him to take action against the rebel legislators and disqualify under Anti-Defection law since they have failed to honour the party’s whip to attend CLP meeting and have tendered resignation despite having got elected on Congress ticket.

The agitators aired slogans alleging that BJP, by utilising Central agencies including IT, Enforcement Directorate and CBI is bringing pressure on the ruling party Legislators to tender their resignation.
