CRPF to add new security features to convoy movement in J&K

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has decided to add new security features to its convoy movement in Jammu and Kashmir making convoy passage more safe and secured.
Talking to media persons here on Sunday, the CRPF Director General RR Bhatnagar said that the new features in the Standard Operative Procedure (SoP) for the movement of Force will soon be added.
“Tweaking the SoP for the convoy, we have decided to add more features to convoy movement while coming in or going out in J&K”, Mr Bhatnagar said.
He also said that apart from traffic control, the timing of the convoy movement and their midway halts and other procedures will also be added with ‘new features’ and some of them will be recalibrated to make it more safe and secured.
After two day visit of state, CRPF DG also said that these new features were used in the convoy movements after the gruesome terror attack on CRPF convoy on Thursday.
The movement of civilian vehicles during the Force movement has been totally stopped in Jammu and Kashmir.
This practice was abandoned some times before on the request of the civilians and as a part of confidence building measures, the government made some relaxation for the movement of civil vehicles.
Now this will be reinforced strictly, the CRPF senior officials said.
