The Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday met three Service Chiefs of the Defence forces here at South Block.
“The three Service Chiefs have briefed the Minister about the preparedness of the forces in the wake of violation of Indian airspace by Pakistani Air Force jets on Wednesday,” a source in the Defence establishment said.
Sitharaman was also briefed about the ground situations, epecially the unprovoked ceasefire violations in Jammu region by Pakistan Army.
The Defence Minister has to brief the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) on Thursday evening.
The Indian Air Force and the Army are on highest alert since Tuesday when IAF fighter jets destroyed the Jais-e-Mohammad(JeM) terror camps in Pakistan in a pre-emptive non-military action. (UNI)
