Former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and former Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) chief Ajay Maken on Tuesday filed nomination for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Delhi.
Dikshit from North East Delhi and Maken from New Delhi parliamentary constituency have filed the nomination.
Dikshit has been pitted against Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari in North East Delhi.
‘This place is a sentimental for me. I am going to that place from where I had started my politics in Delhi. Whoever will be standing against will be a challenge, no matter the candidate is from which party. We will fight and win,’ Ms Dikshit said addressing the mediapersons.
On alliance with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Dikhsit said, ‘The talks of the alliance is completely over now.’
Congress has fielded former DPCC chief Arvinder Singh Lovely from East Delhi, Mahabal Misra from his traditional west Delhi Lok Sabha seat. From the North west Delhi seat, the party has fielded Rajesh Lilothia. Delhi Congress chief J P Agarwal will contest from the Chandni Chowk seat.
Olympic medallist Vijender Singh is pitted from the South Delhi Constituency. (UNI)
