DRDO developed Rustom-2 drone crashes near test site in Karnataka

A drone developed by Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO) crashed ner Jodi Chikkenahalli village, near DRDO’s facility in the district, but no one was reported hurt on the ground due to the mishap. Official sources said the latest version of Rustom-2 drone was flown on a routine test sortie but the ground control lost its contact after sometime when it was in the air and it crashed in a arecanut plantation close to Kudapur faclity of DRDO.

The drone carried the model name of Tapas-04 ADE and crashed in the plantation owned by one Manjunath. The incident led to large number of people throng the crash site to witnessed disintegrated Unmanned Ariel Vehicle (UAV) before police came and cleared the crowd. (UNI)
