Electrification of Lanjigarh Road-Junagarh, Naupada-Gunupur line to be completed soon- ECoR

Bhubaneswar, Nov 14 (UNI) The electrification work on 56 Km long Lanjigarh Road-Junagarh Branch Line Railway Section of Vizianagaram-Titilagarh-Raipur Railway route and 90 Km long Naupada-Gunupur Branch Line of Howrah-Chennai Main Line will be completed soon. East Coast Railway(ECoR) sources here said  Works for these projects are being done on a war footing . While Rs 62 crore has been spent for 56 Km long rail line between Lanjigarh Road and Junagarh Road, Rs 105 Crores has been spent for 90 KM long rail line between Naupada and Gunupur.Recently, the main line sections of Sambalpur Railway Division i.e. Jharsuguda-Sambalpur, Sambalpur-Angul, Sambalpur-Titilagarh, Titilagarh-Singapur Road and Titilagarh-Raipur Railway Section have already been completed.

Apart from this, electrification work between Belsonda-Komakhan-Khariar Road in Titilagarh-Raipur Railway section is in progress and will be completed by the end of November, 2019. The electrification work in Khurda Road-Balangir ongoing Railway Line project has been started and a sum of Rs 265 crore will be spent for 289 Km long rail line project. The electrification work in this line is being done from both sides of the project. After completion of Railway electrification projects in these Railway Sections, trains with electric locomotives will be introduced instead of Diesel Locomotives. This will improve the speed of trains and will reduce the fuel cost and the expenditure will be minimised. ECoR requested people to be extra careful when passing through the energised Railway line from the date of commissioning of this project from December 31 next.
