Seven officials of Falcon Marine Exports held in  chlorine gas leak from  prawn processing plant

Balasore, Nov 14 (UNI) At least  seven officials of Falcon Marine Exports were arrested today by the  police  in connection with leakage of chlorine gas in the prawn processing factory in Khantapada on Wednesday last. About 100 workers, mostly women, fell sick  last  night  during the mishap and admitted in the District Headquarter hospital here. Police said the general manager, production manager, HR manager, two supervisors, shift in-charge and safety manager of the factory  were arrested. The  police has registered a case  against the Falcon Marine Exports company and sealed the  factory after the  mishap. On the  direction of the Odisha Director general of Police, a team of  forensic experts from Bhubaneswar have arrived  here to probe into the gas leakage in the  plant. State Labour Minister Sushant Singh has also  ordered a  probe into the incident by the Labour Commissioner  and said stern action will be taken against those found responsible for the  mishap.
