Jammu and Kashmir former chief minister Farooq Abdullah has been detained under the public safety act, the Centre said on Monday.
The development came at a time when a habeas corpus petition seeking Abdullah’s presence in the Supreme Court was filed by Tamil Nadu politician Vaiko.
On August 5, speaking on the absence of Mr Abdullah, Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced in Parliament that the National Conference leader had missed the session of his own. (UNI)
