A major early morning blaze completely reduced to ashes at least 17 shanties on Prince Ghulam Muhammad Shah Road at Lake Gardens’ Lord’s More in the city.
Altogether ten fire tenders, pressed into service, fought for an hour to douse the blaze, which started from around 4 AM this morning.
The fire spread fast following explosion of some gas cylinders.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
Several other shanties also suffered partial damages.
However, no casualty has been reported so far.
Traffic movement was affected for some time following the incident. (UNI)
