Accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of deceiving the residents of Varanasi and the country, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Thursday here said mother ‘Ganga’ was about to take back her blessings from Mr Modi, which she had conferred upon him in 2014, because he did not keep the promises made earlier.
Addressing an electoral rally at Varanasi’s Seergovardhan village, Ms Mayawati said Mr Modi had promised to clean the Ganga river, but along with the people, he had also not kept his promises vis-a-vis the holy river and hence, she was about to take back her blessings.

Claiming that the SP-BSP-RLD gathbandhan is strong, the former UP CM said whenever the Assembly elections take place in the state after the General elections, BJP will go out of power certainly and Mr Yogi will have to go back to the ‘math.’
The BSP honcho averred that in the voting pattern of six phases, not only in UP, but the BJP was in a bad shape in West Bengal and other states.

Raising the issue of women security, Ms Maywati launched a personal attack on Mr Modi and said, “The individual, who could not give respect to his wife, how will he protect and respect the women of the country. Their promise of providing security and respect to the mother-sisters of the country is a lie.”

Appealing to the people to be careful of Congress along with the BJP, the BSP supremo said there was no difference in the two parties. Congress was in power for maximum time but the poor people got nothing. The quota of the reservation provided by the Constitution was also not completed. BJP is also walking on that path. There are no government jobs in their rule and because of maximum work being done on contractual basis, the benefits of reservation are not available in private sector as well. The circumstances of poor hailing from upper caste also are in a bad shape. If the ‘gathbandhan’ government is formed, an arrangement for permanent jobs for everyone in government and private sector will be done.
