Congress leader and AICC general secretary for Uttar Pradesh east Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday expressed happiness that Rs 72000 per annum would be deposited in the accounts of women in 5 crore households under the Minimum income guarantee scheme (NYAY) if the Congress comes to power in the coming Lok Sabha elections.
‘’For me the biggest happiness is that through the NYAY scheme, Rs 72000 per annum will be deposited in the accounts of women in 5 crore households,’’Priyanka said in a tweet.
In a press conference here, AICC media incharge Randeep Surjewala, giving details of the scheme announced by Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday, said, ‘It is a women-centric scheme. The money will be transferred to the accounts of homemakers.’
