New Delhi, Aug 12 (UNI) A hoax call was received on Monday night regarding a bomb threat at the Terminal 2 of the Indira Gandhi International airport in New Delhi, the police said.The concerned security agencies and stake holders were immediately alerted and and meanwhile certain area was also temporarily evacuated for thorough checking.The call was received at around 2005 hours, and immediately the agencies swung into action.
According to police a comprehensive search operation was conducted by multiple agencies including CISF, Delhi Police and Airport Authority and others with Bomb Disposal experts.So far , the police has zeroed down on the person who was the registered user of the number from which the call was received however, the person has denied making any such call.
Meanwhile, the operations at the airport are normal, but the agencies are on their toes.A case is being registered under relevant sections while the probe is underway in the matter.
