Honor, a sub-brand of tech giant Huawei, launched ‘Honor View 20’ the world’s first 48-Mega Pixel camera mobile phone in India on Tuesday.
The ‘Honor View 20’ comes as the global variant of the ‘Honor V20’ that was launched in China last month.
The View 20 model is also the company’s first smartphone with a display hole. With the ‘hole-punch’ 25 MP selfie camera it comes with a time of flight (ToF) sensor at the back, coupled with a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor.
Available in three colour variants — Phantom Blue, Midnight Black, and Sapphire Blue, Honor View 20 has two storage variants. On the back, the phone has a glossy glass with gradient design. It shows V-shaped gradient lines that reflect when looked at from angles.
The Dual NPU offers advanced AI and machine learning computation as well as GPU Turbo 2.0 which reduces jitter rate and lag while playing games.
The entire setup is backed up by a 4,000 mAh and it comes with 40 W SuperCharger in the box.
At the launching ceremony here, Allen Wang, director, product centre, Huawei India Consumer Business Group disclosed the prices as Rs 37,999 for the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant, while its 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage option is priced at Rs 45,999.
Powering the Honor View 20 is an octa-core Kirin 980 chipset with Dual NPU. This is the same chipset that powers the Huawei Mate 20 Pro as well.
The Kirin 980 is Huawei’s first 7nm-based processor that offers a significant bump in performance and improved power efficiency compared to its predecessor.
Honor View 20 will go on sale through Amazon.in and HiHonor Store in the country starting 0000 hrs from Wednesday, January 30. It will also be available via Reliance Digital from February. (UNI)
