The famous Ratha Yatra of Puri is know all around the world. To mark the occasion, international sand artist Manas Kumar Sahoo has made the chariots of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra out of sand.
By creating sand art of the Taladhwaja (Balabhadra’s chariot), Debidalana (Subhadra’s chariot), and Nandighosa (Jagannath’s chariot), the artist has prayed for the unending mercy of Lord Jagannath and has begged Him for world peace. The artist prays the Lord to bless people from all over the world out of miseries and all sorts of evils they face.
The sand art on the golden beach of Puri is of 15 feet in width and it took Sahoo nearly eight hours complete. ‘World Peace’ is the message given by the artiste in this sand art.
