Indo-Pak Tension: Schools along border closed, exams postponed

Against the backdrop of prevailing Indo-Pak Tension, the schools in the bordering areas of Jammu region have been shut while the examinations of different classes were also postponed on Thursday, an adminstrative official said.
According to the official, ”Schools within the radius of five-kilometres of International Border and the Line of Control have been shut as a preventive measure in view of escalated tension between two countries”.
He said that the decision regrading opening of schools will be taken on Thursday evening by the authorities concerned.
He further said, “the examinations of class 8th, 9th have been postponed,” adding that the examination of class 10th and 12th, scheduled for March 1 and 2 have also been postponed till further orders.
”Fresh dates of holding examinations will be announced soon,” said an official of the education department.
Meanwhile, police authorities have issued advisory not to fall pretty to rumour mongers and avoid circulating or forwarding unconfirmed and unofficial reports. (UNI)
