The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday filed a fresh chargesheet against former Union finance minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram, in the INX media case.
CBI has named 14 persons in the chargesheet, including Chidambaram’s son Karti Chidambaram, former media baron Peter Mukerjea and his estranged wife Indrani Mukerjea.
The agency had registered an FIR in May, 2017, over alleged irregularities in the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) clearance to the INX Media, for receiving overseas funds of Rs 305 crore in 2007, when Chidambaram was the Union Finance Minister.
