External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar held a meeting with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and both leaders held important discussions on regional and global issues.
“A good conversation with Secretary of State Pompeo focusing on the further progress of our bilateral relations,” Dr Jaishankar tweeted.
“Also discussed important regional and global issues. Welcomed the continuing development of a key partnership,” he wrote.
Dr Jaishankar is also likely to meet US Defence Secretary Mark Esper and the newly appointed US National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien.
In an event organised by the Carnegie Endowment for International Relationship think-tank, External Affairs Minister said that most of the trade disputes (with the US) are “resolvable in the near term”. (UNI)
