Jan 29 hearing of Ram Temple case in SC deferred again

SC issues notice on implementation of Sec 176 (1A) CrPC

The hearing in the Ram Temple civil dispute case could not take place on January 29 as per the earlier scheduled, as one of the judges in the Supreme Court’s five judge Constitution bench, Justice S A Bobde would be on leave.

Due to the non-availability of Justice Bobde on January 29, there won’t be any hearing by the Constitution Bench in the Ram janmabhoomi, Babri civil title land dispute case.

In January 25, Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi in a new notice reconstituted a new five judge bench to hear the sensitive Ayodhya Ram temple land dispute case.

On the last date of hearing in the case on January 10, one of the Judges in the bench, Justice UU Lalit had recused from hearing the case.

The other four judges in the five judge Constitution Bench would be CJI, and DY Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan and S Abdul Nazeer.
