Javadekar hails cabinet's decision of restoring 200-point roster system

Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar hailed the Cabinet decision of restoring the earlier reservation system based on 200-point roster.

Mr Javadekar tweeted on Thursday, “The Union #Cabinet today approved the proposal for promulgation of “The Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Teachers’ Cadre) Ordinance, 2019” considering the University/ College as one unit.”

“This decision will also now pave the way for filling up of more than 5000 vacancies by direct recruitment in Teachers’ Cadre,” Mr Javadekar wrote on Twitter.

“This decision will also address the long standing demands of persons belonging to SCs/STs/SEBCs and ensure their rights envisaged under the Constitution.

“This decision restores earlier reservation system based on 200 point roster. No longer will ‘Department/ Subject’ be treated as one unit,” shared the HRD minister on social media account. (UNI)
