Justice Dhirubhai Naranbhai Patel was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court on Friday.
Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal administered the oath to Justice Patel at a brief ceremony held at theRaj Niwas here.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, his deputy Manish Sisodia and cabinet colleagues, senior members of the judiciary, officers of the Delhi government and other officials were present at the ceremony.
Justice Patel began his stint as a judge of the High Court after he was elevated as an Additional Judge of the Gujarat High Court in 2004. Subsequently, he took oath as permanent Judge in January, 2006.
He is former Acting Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court.
