BJP Tamil Nadu unit Ms Tamilisai Soundararajan on Monday flayed actor-politician and Makkal Needhi Maiyam (MNM) Founder Kamal Haasan for his ‘controversial’ remarks against Hindu. During campaigning for his party candidate at Aravakurichi where Assembly bypoll would be held on May 19 along with three other seats, Kamal had stated that the first terrorist of Independent India was a Hindu in the form on Nathuram Godse, who had shot dead Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. He said it was Godse who had shot dead Mahatma Gandhi and that he was here
to question for that killing. His remarks triggered furious reactions from BJP which had strongly condemned it. Ms Tamilisai in a tweet said, actor Kamal Haasan recalling Gandhi’s assassination now and calling it Hindu terrorism was condemnable. ”Standing amidst minorities in TN by-election campaign he is lighting a dangerous fire to gain votes by minority appeasement”, she said and sought to know his silence on serial bomb blasts in Sri Lanka on Easter day.
”Kamal didn’t opine on recent Srilanka bomb blast why?”, she asked, Ms Tamilisai said ”but Kamal dares to take up decades old event which was well enquired and guilty punished ?’.
