Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa sails through successfully by winning the Trust Vote on BJP’s own strength in the Legislative Assembly here on Monday.
Speaker K R Ramesh Kumar, who took up the motion moved by the Yediyurappa, declared that the motion was passed by voice vote.
After taking Oath on Friday, though Governor had given one week time, the Chief Minister chose to move the Trust vote on Monday well in advance as important Finance bill has to be passed before July 31 to ensure payment of Salary to the State Government employees.
It became an easy task for the new BJP government to sail through without any difficulty to hunt for magic figure since following disqualification of rebel 17 MLAs by the Speaker K R Ramesh Kumar yesterday the number in the 224 House was reduced to 217 and the party had the required strength of 105 on its own to prove the majority.
BJP’s inroad became possible following fall of Congress-JDS Coalition Government which failed to sail through Trust vote since more than 17 MLAs of both the ruling party rebelled against.
