(UNI) As many as 37 people were killed in an attack on a village in central Mopti region of Mali, local officials said.
According to the officials, many homes were burned in Koulogon village. The incident happened at about 05:00 GMT on Tuesday, a statement said. The attackers were believed to be traditional hunters.
An investigation to nab the accused have been launched.
Last year, hundreds of people died in clashes between Dogon hunters and members of the largely nomadic Fula ethnic group. The clashes are often over access to land and water.
