Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal on Sunday supported Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s demand of full statehood to Delhi.
Maliwal was responding to a tweet of Kejriwal, in which he had wished DCW chief and his team best wishes for their padyatra for women safety in Delhi.
”Thank you Sir for your constant support. Law & order condition in Delhi is pathetic. People are v unhappy with functioning of Police. We support your struggle for full statehood. I strongly feel that Police should be directly accountable to the elected state Government!” Maliwal said in a tweet.
Kejriwal on Saturday announced that he will go on an indefinite hunger strike from March 1 to press for the demand of full statehood.
Maliwal on Sunday began a 13-day ‘padyatra’ on women safety from Rajghat, and also launched a pilot project ‘Mahila Suraksha Dal’ during the foot march. (UNI)
