According to the ex-CPMF welfare association, martyr status must be given to the CAPF soldiers who died in the anti-terror operations . The association also requested to give minimum of Rs one crore as an ex-gratia amount and a government job to atleast one member of the martyr’s family.

Regarding OROP, the welfare association demanded for its implementation in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and also to restore old pension scheme as applicable before 2004.

In order to provide better medical facilities to ex-paramilitary staff, the association demanded that provision for opening new Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) dispensaries on the pattern of Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) dispensaries should be implemented.

There should be provision of canteen like Canteen Stores Department (CSD) and free ration facilities to the paramiltary staff, the association observed.

The welfare association also demanded to have optimum education standards by opening CAPF school, same as Sainik schools.

In terms of administrative changes, the association demanded that CAPFs must be headed by the cadre officers and Assam Rifles should function under single control of one ministry. The central and state governments should establish CAPF welfare board, the association demanded.

The demand gained momentum in September 2015 after the Centre announced OROP implementation for ex-servicemen.
