Mamata calls upon party supporters to ensure victory in all 42 LS seats in Bengal;Says 2019 signals end of Modi Govt

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday slammed the BJP

-led Union Government, charging Prime Minister Narendra Modi with destroying both economy and

social fabric of the country, and called upon the people to end the rule of saffron party in 2019

Parliament elections.

After chairing the All India Trinamool Congress core committee meeting to chalk out the action plan for the coming General election, Ms Banerjee called upon the party activists to work overtime and ensure victory in all the 42 Parliamentary seats in West Bengal.

She also asked the party workers to prepare themselves technically to defeat attempts of alleged tampering of EVMs.

She also instructed party’s senior leaders, MPs and ministers to acquire knowledge of EVMs and teach the grassroots level workers so that any attempt to tamper the voting machines could be

resisted.

She said all senior and field level party workers must know the operational technology of Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT), a feature of the electronic voting machine which was first used in Goa elections.

A slip is printed on the VVPAT printer containing the serial number.

She also asked all the senior leaders not to move beyond their respective constituencies and work for electioneering as dates of Parliament polls are expected to be announced by the ECI in a few weeks time.

” I am meaning that AITC must ensure win in the 42 seats and for this we need an action plan from right now, ” Ms Banerjee told party workers at the gathering at Nazrul Manch in South Kolkata.

Ms Banerjee alleged that the BJP-led Government at the Centre has destroyed all the constituent institutions like CBI, ED.

She also alleged that the Modi government has grossly failed to ensure social security to the Indians in the last five years.

On Pulwama incident, Ms Banerjee also attacked the Prime Minister, alleging Mr Modi knew about the attack and allowed the Indian jawans to move on convoys without proper search operation in the area avoiding air traffic.

Ms Banerjee also asked why the Prime Minister did not play a pro-active role in stopping the attack.

“ You knew that the attack would take place. Intelligence input was there. But neither were they (jawans) nor was there any naka checking or road checking. Everyone was allowed to move freely. Why? In order to take advantage during vote, now Mr Modi is trying to play a game of war, ” Ms Banerjee maintained.

She also targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party, alleging the saffron party was pumping “an outstanding amount of money” into the state to create disturbance before the election.

“ They [BJP] are calling people and offering money to join. Where is this money….and so much, full of train load….is coming from? ” she asked.

Ms Banerjee asked the party leaders to maintain calm despite of many violent provocations.

“ Create resistance against such moves but do not take law into your own hands. Complain to police, and if they do not act, come to my house…my doors are open and report to me directly, ” Mamata said.
