Mamata pays tribute to father of India’s space programme Vikram Sarabhai on his birth anniversary

West Bengal Chief Minister on Monday paid her rich tribute to father of India’s space programme Vikram Sarabhai on his birth anniversary. Taking to her Twitter handle, Ms Banerjee said, ” Tribute to Vikram Sarabhai, renowned scientist, on his birth anniversary. ” He is considered to be the father of India’s space programme. With him at its helm, Indian National Committee for Space Research was set up in 1962. ISRO’s successes today are a tribute to this pioneer, ” she stated. Famous search engine Google on Monday dedicated a Doodle on the occasion.

Today’s Doodle, illustrated by Mumbai-based guest artist Pavan Rajurkar, celebrates the 100th birthday of award-winning Indian physicist, industrialist and innovator Vikram Sarabhai, remembered by many as the father of India’s space programme.  (UNI)
