Man completes vocal, musicial recording of over 550 compositions of Guru Nanak Dev

To mark the momentous occasion of 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev, Arvinderjit Singh of Chandigarh has completed the vocal and musical recording of over 550 compositions (shabads) of the founder of the religion.

Popularly known as ‘Kittu Veerji Chandigarh Wale’, Mr Singh has recorded these over 550 shabads in honor of Guru Nanak Dev in about one year’s time, in collaboration with Babli Singh of Shemaroo. He came up with this novel and innovative spiritual concept of singing these shabads, authored by Guru Nanak Dev over five centuries ago, in his own melodious voice, as a humble tribute to the Holy Master.

The sole aim of this project has been to propagate the global message of oneness of God, divine love, peace, universal brotherhood and spiritual devotion, as enshrined in the sacred Gurbani, composed by the founder of the Sikhism.

Christened as ‘Listen to Nanak’ project, the album will be released on Guru Nanak Dev’s 550 Prakash Purab on November 12 as a flash drive/pen-drive, and will also be subsequently made available on various social media platforms. This feat of singing and recording 550 shabads is an extremely arduous and fastidious task – a unique and unmatched record of its own kind.

Besides, as the Chief Trustee of Mata Tripta Ji Charitable Trust (Registered) and founder of Guru Nanak Phulwari, Mr Singh has contributed quite notably in the recent past by producing and directing two Punjabi movies, Sada Chir Jeevo and Mittar Pyare Nu, based upon the life history of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru of the religion. The Trust has been running three dental clinics and diagnostic labs in various sectors of Chandigarh city for serving the masses, particularly the underprivileged.
