Srinagar, Jan 8 (UNI) Welcoming Supreme Court (SC) decision to reinstate CBI director Alok Verma, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday said it is time for central government to stop misuse of investigation agency.
Taking to micro blogging site Twitter immediately after SC verdict, president of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said, “Welcome SCs decision to reinstate #AlokVerma as CBI Dir”.
She further said, “Reinstates belief in independent institutions of our democracy that are its pillars”.
Ms Mehbooba, who headed a coalition government with BJP in the state before she had to resign after BJP pulled out, said, “Time for the Central gov to stop misusing its influence to arm twist investigative agencies like NIA (National Investigation Agency) & CBI for political vendetta”.
