Mexico and Argentina will meet in an international friendly in Texas in September as both teams prepare for their respective 2022 World Cup qualifying campaigns.
The clash will take place in San Antonio, Texas, on September 10, Mexican football federation Femexfut said on Thursday.
“Two-time world champions Argentina will be Mexico’s opponent in a game at the Alamodome,” read a Femexfut statement.
The fixture will pit Mexico’s Argentine head coach Gerardo Martino against the team he managed from 2014 to 2016.
Mexico have won just four and lost 14 of their 30 meetings with the Albiceleste.
Mexico and Argentina will start their quest for a 2022 World Cup place next March in their respective CONCACAF and CONMEBOL qualifying tournaments.
