Bhubaneswar: Sambad Group Managing Director Monica Nayyar Patnaik has been appointed as the chairperson of FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry) Odisha State Council.
With this, Ms Patnaik becomes the first Indian media and entertainment industry executive to assume a leadership position in the state chapter.
Prior to this, Ms Patnaik was holding the post of Co-chair of Odisha State Council in 2019-20.
“Let me thank you for Co-chairing the FICCI Odisha State Council in the year 2019. Your support and guidance have been invaluable and FICCI is privileged by your association. May I now invite you to take up the responsibility of Chairing the FICCI Odisha State Council,” said President of FICCI, Dr Sangita Reddy in a written communiqué.
Reddy is a prominent Indian businesswoman and is the joint Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals Group. She was nominated as President of FICCI last month for 2019-20.
“I look forward to work with the chambers in the new capacity. I would work along with the team of FICCI for strengthening its presence in the state,” the Sambad Group MD expressed in her reaction.
Besides, she was also appointed as national governing body member of FICCI- Media & Entertainment Skills Council in 2012. She also serves on the governing body of AROI (Association of Radio Operators of India).
Recently, she has completed a leadership course from University of Oxford.
