NDRF rescues 500 passengers onboard Mahalaxmi Express stranded near Mumbai

Four teams of the National Disaster Response Force(NDRF) have rescued more than 500 passengers onboard the Mahalaxmi Express which is stranded at the Wangani town owing to incessant rainfall in the suburban areas of this metropolis,said reports.
As the saved passengers included 9 pregnant women,requisite arrangements have been made to respond to the medical emergencies; 37 doctors with gynaecologist as well as ambulances have been kept on standby.

Facilites for serving foods to the stranded persons have been made at the Sahyadri Mangal Karayalay,and 14 buses and 3 tempos are being steered for aiding commute,added reports.

Meanwhile,Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has instructed the State Chief Secretary to personally monitor rescue operations,and assured the passengers that all the needed steps for rescuing them safely are underway.

Besides the NDRF,7 teams of Navy personnel,2 military columns and Airforce helicopters have been roped in so as to add pace to the rescue operations,mentioned reports.
