New Delhi: Prime Minister of Nepal Sher Bahadur Deuba has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for visiting Lumbini on Buddha Purnima on Monday. In a tweet, Mr. Deuba said, he believes that Mr. Modi’s special pilgrimage to the Birthplace of Lord Buddha has further strengthened the friendship and cultural ties between Nepal and India.
Replying to Mr. Deuba on Twitter, Mr. Modi said, his Nepal visit on Buddha Purnima has been a special one. He thanked Mr. Deuba, people and Government of Nepal for the affection.
