A day after taking a pot shot at union minister and senior BJP leader Giriraj Singh for his tweet attacking him on ‘Iftar’ parties, Chief Minister and JD (U) Nitish Kumar attacked Singh for the second consecutive day today saying a ‘person who was unable to respect all religions could not be a religious person’.
Without taking name of Mr Singh, chief minister Kumar greeted Muslim brethren on the occasion of Eid festival at historic Gandhi Maidan and told newspersons, “A person who talks about respect of his religion but not of other religions, is not a religious but a non-religious person. We should express our respect to all religions”.
Kumar said objectionable words were being used in the society insisting on immediate halt to it. He said, everybody should have mutual respect for each other irrespective of his religion and emphasised that real religion was respecting each other.
“All religions have common teaching and message of love and respect”, CM said. Kumar said anybody talking something else should not be considered a religious person as he had no faith in religion. He said that such a person wanted to defame religion urging all people to maintain peace and harmony in the society. (UNI)
